The
following policies and procedures are designed to assure
a successful and well-organized event. We are happy
to customize a menu to fit a specific need; your event
is important to us. We will do everything possible
to meet your budget and create a personalized menu for
your special occasion.
Campus
Polices
Food and beverage left over from an event remain the property
of BYU CATERING.
BYU CATERING must approve all food and/or beverages brought
into an event by the patron, prior to the event. Charges
incurred for service of these products are added to the
bill.
BYU Dining Services is the broker for all food and beverage
served on campus.
Facilities
Room reservations are made through BYU Campus Scheduling,
(801) 422- 3134.
Contact our Wedding Consultant, Brooke Everett, at (801) 422-5001 when planning your special event. All wedding events must be held in the Skyroom Restaurant or the Conference Center.
We require a minimum order of $8 per person for Skyroom Restaurant events.
All banquets at the JFSB, Spring Haven, Timpanogos Lodge,
or Legend's Grille balcony must be served buffet-style.
There is a $1 per person fee for functions served
anywhere other than the Wilkinson Student Center.
Additional fees apply to university events held off campus. This transportation fee will be assessed for each event.
Planning
We recommend finalizing your menu selection with a consultant
3 weeks in advance.
An estimated attendance count is needed at this time.
Guarantees
Your final attendance guarantee is required three
business days prior to your event.
Food is prepared for the guarantee number, or count, given.
Our minimum charge to you will be the guaranteed count
given at that time.
Cancellations
Cancellations must be made three business days
prior to your event.
Cancellations made after this time period are subject
to any costs incurred.
Prices
Outdoor BBQs and Picnic Lunches served on campus are exempt
from travel fees.
Events requiring extended service hours are subject to
additional charges.
All prices printed are subject to change.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service.
BYU Departments will be
billed through the campus financial system.
We accept payments made by cash, check, or major credit
card.
We require a 50% deposit for any non-BYU affiliated event
one week prior to the event; the final count is also
due at this time.
Gratuities/Taxes/Service
Charges
BYU does not require a gratuity, however it is appreciated;
all tips are paid to student employees.
All non-BYU affiliated groups are subject to Utah state
sales tax.
Groups with tax-exempt status must supply our office with
their tax-exempt number.
Substitutions
and Multiple Entree Selections
Substitutions may be made for dietary or religious purposes.
Substitutions exceeding 10% of the guarantee
number will require an additional charge.
If multiple entrees are desired, a $1 per person charge
will be added for each additional selection with a maximum
of 3 different selections
(some
entrees require a minimum, please speak with a Catering
Consultant at 422-5001)
The patron is responsible for providing nametags or place
cards that indicate entree selections.
Food
Allergy Disclaimer
Brigham
Young University Dining Services makes every attempt to
identify ingredients that may cause allergic reactions
for those with food allergies. Every effort is made to
instruct our food production staff on the severity of
food allergies. In addition, we label items with possible
allergen-containing ingredients; however, there is always
a risk of contamination. There is also a possibility that
manufacturers of the commercial foods we use could change
the formulation at any time, without notice. Customers
concerned with food allergies need to be aware of this
risk. Brigham Young University Dining Services will not
assume any liability for adverse reactions to foods consumed,
or items one may come in contact with while eating at
any University establishments. Students with food allergies
are encouraged to contact BYU Dining Services (801-422-4935)
for additional information and/or support.
