BYU Dining Services Food Recalls

BYU Dining Services in conjunction with BYU Purchasing monitors all food related recalls. The department has established a well defined recall protocol. BYU Purchasing receives all recall updates from the United States Food and Drug Agency, manufacturers and vendors from whom we purchase food. BYU Dining Services uses the same protocol whether it is a voluntary or mandated recall.

The current voluntary peanut related recall has caused some concerns about the safety of certain products being sold or distributed by BYU Dining Services. There have been instances where the department has removed items as they are indicated in a recall. The Department uses all precaution to insure food safety. The Department has an integrated inventory system which enables BYU Dining Administration to trace any product through the department on campus.
